CMS Repo: stores all metadata related to all Locks, Info objects,aliases,relations,version info…

DS Repo: The SAP Business Objects Data Services repository is a set of tables that hold user-created
and predefined system objects, source and target metadata, and transformation rules.

IS Repo: The Information Steward repository stores all of the metadata collected, profiling and rule
results, and sample data. The repository should be on a separate database server.To avoid resource
contention,the databaseserver should not be the same database server that contains the source data.
The database server that does not contain the source data may or may not be on the same database
server that hosts the Business Intelligence platform repository.

Application Server
Central Management Console:

Manages the following for SAP Business Objects Information Steward Enterprise Information
Management Adaptive Processing Server (EIM Adaptive   Processing Server) and services
     Information Steward Job Server (IS JobServer) and services.

The guide includes information about the SAP Business Objects Data Services Management Console,
a collection of Web-based applications for administering Data Services jobs & services, viewing object
relationships,evaluating job execution performance & data validity, & generating data quality reports.

The Management Console includes the following applications:

Administrator

Use to manage your production environment including batch job execution,real-time services,
Web Services,adapter instances, server groups, central and profiler repositories, and more.

Impact and Lineage Analysis

Use to analyze the end-to-end impact and lineage for Data Services tables and columns and SAP
Business Objects Business Intelligence platform objects such as universes,business views & reports.

Operational Dashboard

Use to view dashboards of job execution statistics to see at a glance the status and performance of
your job executions for one or more repositories over a given time period.

Data Validation Dashboard

Use to evaluate the reliability of your target data based on the validation rules you created in your
batch jobs to quickly review, assess, and identify potential inconsistencies or errors in source data.

Auto Documentation

Use to view,analyze, and print graphical representations of all objects as depicted in the Designer
including their relationships, properties, and more.

Data Quality Reports

Use to view and export reports for batch and real-time jobs such as job summaries and data quality
transform specific reports.

IS Management console:

IPS

CMS:

Maintains a database of information about your BI platform system. The data stored by CMS includes
information about users and groups, security levels,schedule information,BI platform content and
servers. For more information about the CMS, see SAP BO-BI Platform Administrator's Guide.

The following objects in the Metadata Management module of Information Steward

are stored in the CMS.

Adaptive processing Server:

Required during Information Steward installation to create EIM Adaptive Processing Server.

The EIM Adaptive Processing Server uses BIP adaptive processing server to host the

--> Metadata Integrator Service

--> Data Services Metadata Browsing Service

--> Data Services View Data Service

--> Information Steward Administrator Task Service

--> Cleansing Package Builder Core Service

--> Cleansing Package Builder Auto-analysis Service

--> Cleansing Package Builder Publishing Service

Adaptive job Server :

Information Steward Job Server uses the Adaptive Job Server for executing profiling tasks and
integrator tasks.

The server may host the following services for Information Steward:

--> Information Steward Task Scheduling Service

--> Information Steward Integrator Scheduling Service

File input repo & File output repo:

Stores files associated with:

--> A published cleansing package. The stored information can be accessed by Data Services

--> History logs for Data Insight task and metadata integrator execution Search index for metadata
integrator objects

Job Server:

The SAP Business Objects Data Services Job Server starts the data movement engine that integrates
data from multiple heterogeneous sources, performs complex data transformations, and manages
extractions and transactions from ERP systems and other sources.

Access Server:

The SAP Business Objects Data Services Access Server is real-time,request-reply message broker
that collects message requests, routes them to a real-time service, and delivers a message reply
within a user-specified time frame. The Access Server queues messages and sends them to the
next available real-time service across any number of computing resources.

IS Management Console:

Meta Data Integrator: Collects metadata about objects such as universes,Crystal Reports,
Web Intelligence documents, and Desktop Intelligence documents.

IS task scheduler: Processes scheduled Data Insight profile and rule tasks in the
Central Management Console (CMC).

RFC Server

Data Services uses the SAP RFC Server Interface for the following tasks:

--> Scheduling SAP jobs

--> Reading from SAP Open Hub destinations

--> Loading SAP NetWeaver BW

--> Viewing Data Services logs from SAP NetWeaver BW

This section describes how to use the RFC Server Interface in the Administrator. To access

the RFC Server Interface, in the Administrator expand the SAP Connections node and
click RFC Server Interface.

Two tabs display: RFC Server Interface Status and RFC Server Interface Configuration.

DS Admin:

View Data: Provides the capability to view the external data in Data Insight connections
in Information Steward.

Metadata Relationship: Computes metadata object relationships (such as data lineage and
change  impact analysis). The Metadata Management module of Information Steward uses the
results of these computed relationships to display metadata relationship diagrams.

Metadata Search: Allows you to find an object that exists in any integrator source while viewing

metadata on the Metadata Management module of Information Steward. It uses the Lucene Search
Engine.It uses search index during execution.

IS admin Task: Performs tasks on Data Services such as test rule, delete objects (connection,
data store, workflow) from Data Services,export rules to Data Services.

CPB service: Cleansing Package Builder Auto-analysis Service analyzes sample data and generates
parsing rules for Cleansing Package Builder.
